Description
Uniform Manifold Approximation and Projection (UMAP) is a machine learning algorithm used for dimensionality reduction to visualize high parameter datasets in a two-dimensional space, an alternative to the very popular and widely used tSNE algorithm. The bioinformatics tool was developed by McInnes and Healy. Version 4.0 and newer runs in R due to the improved performance experienced with the R package. Because it uses R, version 4.0 and newer requires R installed on the computer. Version 3.3.4 and older uses a Python implementation that require no additional dependencies.
